Ray Petrino, CPA
President & CEO
Ray founded Hemera Financial Solutions with the goal of providing his broad knowledge of consumer products, financial services, and not-for-profit entities to clients. Ray developed the proprietary tools utilized by Hemera, and he oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm.
His career highlights include the following:
- Worked with Suite 850, a VC company, to put together a deal involving Suite 850, the Coca-Cola company and Zico, Nature's Sports Drink. Instrumental in forming three other entities for Suite 850 in 2009 alone, including Evil Goods, LLC, which sponsored the Entertainers' Basketball Classic (EBC) at Rucker Park in Harlem, New York.
- Served as the Controller for the HFH ShortPLUS Fund, a top performing hedge fund in 2007, with net performance exceeding +140%.
- Served as the Controller for Shenkman Capital Management, Inc. for 6+ years and helped grow assets from $2 billion to $12 billion, while implementing the policies and procedures for the back office and supervising the audits of the onshore and offshore commingled funds.
- Audited four years of results for Hershey's pasta division (includes Ronzoni and San Giorgio), culminating in the sale of the business to New World Pasta.
Ray's expertise includes the following:
- Creation and compilation of real-time
budgets to show “bottom line” results under various
performance scenarios, allowing for more effective cash management and
to determine the viability of future projects, bonus payouts, and
partner distributions.
- Supervision and coordination of audit work, including the preparation of appropriate financial
statement disclosures for separately managed accounts and master-feeder
funds.
- Coordination of annual tax filings with
independent accountants, including the filing of federal, state, and
city returns for limited partnerships and the distribution of Schedule
K-1s to investors.
- Establishment of the policies and procedures for various back office functions, including compliance, accounting, finance, and operations.
Ray Petrino graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He
co-founded the Notre Dame chapter of Circle K International, a
community service organization that grew from just 4 to over 100
members in under a year, becoming the largest Circle K worldwide and
providing service to a multitude of special needs groups. Ray earned
honors for most distinguished President and Vice President for the
state of Indiana.

Hemera's Advisory Board consists of three professionals with over 39 years of experience in accounting, finance, operations, and management roles in North American and European markets. The Advisory Board provides independent, unbiased advice on how to grow
the business, effectively manage consulting engagements, and offer top notch customer service. Hemera's management team schedules weekly calls with the Advisory Board to ensure that they stay on track in achieving company goals.

Ron Cocquyt, Business Coach
Every winning team needs a coach and Hemera is no exception. Ron Cocquyt, our team coach, has over 37 years of experience in the consumer products and service industries, and currently serves as the Founder and President of Hylander Management Consultants, LLC. Among Ron's many accomplishments was the sale of Monarch Products, a company he built from the ground up, to Johnson & Johnson. During the initial planning stages, Hemera utilized Ron's services in developing its business model and 5-year plan. Hemera schedules weekly calls and meetings with Ron and leverages off his expertise in growing the business.
